  1. didnt something like this happen before in the last war?

Maybe we should be searching for a cure for Catholicism and other extremist cults. I’m convinced these people are psychotic, damaged goods. They all seem to attract the unstable, the insecure, the inadequate and the obsessive. Put them all under hypnosis and I wouldn’t mind betting we’d get to the bottom of their disturbed minds and what ails them. They are to be pitied.

  3. They’d do better to open a cure centre for paeodophile priests!

Agreed Robert. This kind of behaviour by an organisation that claims to be based on live simply makes my stomach turn. What a shower of hypocrites. These “cure” organisations should be made illegal, as they do nothing but harm people and take their money fraudulently. No surprise its the Polish, again, who are up to this rubbish.

  5. why is Poland in the EU? It seems to hold views more aligned with the primitives in the African churches than with liberal secular democracies!

Poland is happy to take all the good things the EU has to offer, including money raised in part (10%) from LGBT people, and yet is willing to persecute us in a way reminiscent of you know who.

PS I wonder if this is why we have so many educated Poles here: they couldn’t stand the pervasive hypocracy and power of teh RC church?!

In fact RCC are loosing power in Poland every day. But they are still very strong and powerful. It comes from history and tradition of Poland. If you want understand Polish catholicism, you must look deeper in our history. Church was only opposition against communist regime for almost 60 years. And it is really very hard to step back for Polish people to understand, how powerful this church they made. But I am hopeful that with external friendship and support, we can brake this walls of bigotry, hate and homophobia. But we need support.
Talking abut removing Poland from EU doesn’t change anything. In fact it will make situation only worst. With strong communities, strong leadership and strong, powerful support we can change this former communist republic into normal, democratic country.
    Will you help us?

  7. I think that trying to cure gays is a good idea !!!

Szymon, that’s all fine and dandy, its up to the EU to get tough and enforce nondiscrimination legislation. Embargos are another option it should mull, harsh yes, but if Poland wants to take its place alongside civilised countries in western Europe, then it has to conform and abide by the rules. No member state should be able to opt out of anything and nondiscrimination legislation MUST be mandated, not just advocated. Poland is not the only offending nation of course, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Greece, Italy and others should be held to the same standard.

I understand it Robert. I know that without support of our own community, nothing will change. But I know also, that every victory starts with first small step. And we are on this first step already. When I am looking on my community I see, that we are about 20-30 years behind you. But we are moving forward. Slowly, but forward.

  10. Unfortunately, this could be seen as “progress” since it moves from the confessional to the hospital – from “sin” to “illness”. This is the same path followed in other cultures who have taken further steps in awareness, moving from illness to simple variant in the rich human reality. The final step to be taken is for all (Churched and non-churched) is to celebrate the diversity as created by G-D and positively incorporate GLBT persons into their community life and theologies.

What burns your knickers is Jesus Christ can actually cure homosexuality! Haha you fear that fact more than anything.
