A twenty year old Romanian man and his two older brothers have all been sentenced to life in jail for murder.

The brothers attacked the man after the youngest brother, twenty year old Cyprian Abuculesei spent the night at the victims apartment after meeting in a gay bar in Marble Arch.

Abuculeseiwho, was known to his friends as Igor Irinel, spent the night before the murder chatting to his victim in London gay bar before going back for sex.

The victim, Sri Lankan Mohamed Abdulraheem, invited the Romanian back to his apartment in West Norwood.

Twenty year old Cyprian, who has lived in England since he was 15, stayed in the flat the following day while Mr Abdulraheem, also known as Rizmi Raheem went out.

Once Mr Abdulraheem had left Cyprian Abuculesei called his two brothers, Sorin Abuculesei and Savu Abuculesei, to the flat, which they raided the house for valuables.

The victim’s lover and two brothers then lay in wait.

Cyprian Abuculesei and his two brothers, who had only arrived in the UK from Romania three days previously, robbed, tied up and suffocated Mr Abdulraheem.

The 30-year-old, who had a second home in Singleton Close, Tooting, died from respiratory failure after his ankles, legs, wrists and arms were tied up, a cloth was wrapped around his mouth and nose and his face pressed down into a pillow.

His body was not discovered until friends raised the alarm the following week.

Irinel and Sorin Abuclesei, who were both found guilty on April 11, must serve 30 and 28 years respectively.

Savu Abuclesei, who pleaded guilty to the charges, was ordered to serve a minimum of 23 years.

Judge Jeremy Roberts told the brothers, “You took part in a cruel and wicked murder.”
