8 April 2008A touch of drag raises funds for Aberdeen’s Rainbowfest + A glamourous event held last Friday in the Scottish city of Aberdeen raised more than £1,000 for for Rainbowfest, the new lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender event for Aberdeen "City and Shire."Rainbowfeast was hosted by drag artistes Lexy and The Lushettes.Rainbowfest is to be held on the beach front at Queen's Links Aberdeen on Saturday 5th July, and organisers said they want it to be Scotland's biggest LGBT event yet. -

8 April 2008“Only gays in the village” abusers found guilty 2 A mother and daughter are awaiting sentencing after being found guilty of harassing their gay neighbours.Karen Reeves, 44, and Christie Myles, 22, had both denied using homophobic and offensive abuse towards Michael Harris and Shires Crichton of Marley Lane, in Kingston, near Canterbury.The couple have been dubbed by locals as, 'The only gays in the village', a reference to a sketch in BBC comedy show Little Britain. -
8 April 2008Cardiff may get Pride this year + A meeting will be held this week to discuss Cardiff's first ever Cardiff Pride event.It is hoped the new event will replace the Cardiff Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, which has been cancelled this year.A lack of community and financial support is being blamed for the cancellation of Wales' largest Pride event."High demands placed on committee members have made it difficult to retain volunteers and attract new ones," the committee said in a statement.
