Sian Berry has been confirmed as the fourth candidate for Mayor of London appearing at a hustings event organised by gay equality organisation Stonewall.

The Green candidate will appear alongside incumbent Mayor Ken Livingstone, Tory candidate Boris Johnson and Lib Dem’s Brian Paddick at the event at BFI Southbank on Saturday 19th April.

The Stonewall hustings will be the last before Londoners go to the polls on May 1st.

Ms Berry, 33, is the youngest candidate in the race.

She launched her campaign in November after winning 45% of the party member’s votes to become their candidate.

Under the slogan “A Green London is an Affordable London,” she is campaigning for a “living wage” of £7.20 an hour for all Londoners working for public employers, cuts to off-peak travel fares and an increase in affordable housing across the capital.

PinkNews.co.uk is proud to be Stonewall’s media partner for the hustings, which will be held at the BFI Southbank between 11am and 12.30pm.

Ben Summerskill, chief executive of Stonewall, said:

“We are delighted at the huge response so far, and it looks like it will be one of the most successful hustings of the campaign.”

The event is open to everyone, but we are asking people to register here.
