I was a member of a monastery many years ago. The whole bunch of monks there were psycho-sexually odd! Even the very small number who privately admitted to me that they were gay were racked with strangulating guilt about it. The rest were sublimating and suppressing all kinds of psycho-sexual abnormalities. Most of the time it never manifested itself. It doesn’t when you’re constantly gazing upon the crucifix and singing the psalms. But twice a year there has to be celebration, at Easter and Christmas, and out comes the booze and then it’s not long before the oddities begin to bubble up to the surface and manifest themselves. I shall never forget one old monk who hitched up his habit and ran round the room like a cross between a Sicilian whore and a dervish. He wasn’t seen in the community for the next seven days, such was his contrition and embarrassment. Food was taken to his room so that he could eat in private and continue with his self-inflicted penance. This kind of behaviour goes on in religious communities all over the world. Once upon a time a same-sex religious community was the safest place for a gay man to hide himself. Now of course the monasteries and seminaries are practically empty. Now guys know it’s perfectly OK to be gay and out there having FUN! Only EXTREMELY ODD guys goes into religious orders these days.
I wonder what Benedict something or other has to say about his fellow German monk, of course with the outfits Benny wears, he has to be gay. What a sham religion is!
