  1. A classic example as to how perverts work. Long may they infect themselves, leave normal folks out of it.

Anonanon, I sincerely hope you’re not including yourself in that “normal” category, are you? Is it “normal” to come onto a gay site and make silly little comments like that? Is it “normal” for a well balanced “straight” person with no issues with their sexuality to be on a gay site in the first place making such comments? Is it “normal” to have the IQ akin to that of a turnip? No, of course not. Run along now, I’m sure you have some good books to chew on.

“I’m sure you have some good books to chew on.”You mean books to burn surely?

  4. William - Dublin 5 Mar 2008, 10:36pm

No, to burn books implies you have some knowledge as to what’s in them. I doubt this fool would go that far.

“If gay men don’t want porn stars to risk their health, they should stop buying bareback porn.”This response to the barebacking porn phenomenon by the head of the so-called ‘gay men’s health charity’ GMFA, frankly, beggars belief! Mr. Hodson, your job is to speak out on all issues that impact on our community’s sexual health – NOT make excuses for disease spreading behaviours!! Most self-respecting gay men do NOT buy these videos; the type of gay man who would invest money to see youngsters seroconvert on film are the same, psychopathic minority who routinely indulge in unsafe sex, rampant Class A drug use, and infest the underground sex clubs that you have just given your blessing to with the ‘Play Zone’ scheme. What you are saying is let’s wait for these men to become enlightened and then we can all wave goodbye to bareback porn?! Such outrageous statements have been par for the course over the years. You and your organisation are an utter, utter disgrace, having presided over an epidemic of HIV zero-conversions. It is no surprise GMFA has lost the contract to produce HIV campaigns. What is a surprise is that it took those who award the HIV budget so long to realise you are not fit – and never were fit – for purpose.

  6. I think the logical next step with regard to the bareback video assault (and let’s be in no doubt that that is what it is; an assault on the majority of decent, self-respecting gay men who are tarnished by association with this scourge), is to hit the perpetrators of this craze where it will hurt them – in the pocket. Stop buying GT and AXM, don’t pick up Pink Paper, and as for the Prowler store, the place should be picketed and leaflets handed out informing people how its head company is trading off the spread of HIV. Maybe the NHS will want to invoice this sordid company the cost of the extra HIV medication prescriptions its recklessness is causing? As for the kids whose lives have and are still being placed in danger for the sake of profit, why stop at Newsnight? Why not just go all the way to the High Court? Let’s see Millivres in the dock, alongside Matthew Hodson of GMFA, who pretends to head a gay men’s health charity that protects the community’s health but which is really anything but. A few months ago, in response to the rapid tide of bareback porn and how GMFA would be responding to it, he said, and I quote: “I don’t like the thought of censorship, particularly that which discriminates against gay men.” Substitute “gay men” with “HIV” and there you have it really. Some may argue that it was the performers’ choce to appear in these films which are tantamount to gay snuff movies in slo-mo, but the point is they were enticed into these films and didn’t consider the real implications because they were weaned on HIV campaigns that make HIV seem sexy and no more of a nuisance than catching a cold. There is a culture of extreme ignorance around HIV where today’s under-25s are concerned; one that has been systematically perperated by charities whose core income is in the services it provides to those with HIV, and who therefore have no incentive to get tough with the virus but every incentive to sustain and perpetuate policies that encourage its spread. With ‘Play Zone’ now in full swing legitimising unsafe sex venues under a similarly false pretext (i.e. the provision of condoms, etc., that will be little more than window dressing to allow promiscuous men to carry on spreading HIV and STIs with the endorsement of the THT) and PEP continuing to be flogged to the same core group of repeat users on internet sex sites, it is time we said enough. The gay press must now start leading the way instead of providing an instant platform for the likes of THT and GMFA to, effectively, facilitate further the spread of HIV.
