Good God why can’t these backward African countries grow up?It always amazes me that Africans, the first to demand “apologies” for slavery are also at the front of the queue when dishing out prejudice of their own!
Roberto, long time no see. These neanderthals are all the biproduct of learned behaviour, centuries of brainwashing by various religious denominations. Don’t forget, it was we British too who left that awful legacy of criminalising sexual orientation in many parts of our former colonies and commonwealth countries, though you would think they’d have joined the 21st century by now. There’s only one among all of them on that continent that has, South Africa, in fact gone a lot further than we have. Theirs is the only written constitution that protects sexual orientation, a first among nations of the civilised world and of course, LGBT people have full equality.
Hi “ex-pat”, been to Gran Canaria then a family visit in the UK so not been about much since mid January.On the African question and homophobic legacy left behind since colonial times. that’s always an excuse they like to trot out.It always seems funny how they can quickly change their laws relating to how long they stay in office, as with Mugabe et al, but seem to be paralysed when dealing with “rights”?I think that Africans are naturally prejudiced with or without colonialisation – just look at Kenya!

If one looks at statistics that punish for homosexuality (not capital Punishment that is the domain of The Arab Nations) one would see that Africa has the worst history of abuse against Homosexuality.It is little wonder that such things and injustices occur, but occur they do and largely go unreported.People forget that last than a century ago, it was them themselves that were persecuted for the colour of their skins.It is disgusting and again an issue that should be dealt with by the UN and the rest of the civilised world.
