Australia is travelling down a slippery slope. Censorship is wrong, wrong, wrong, in a supposed democracy. Freedom of speech and expression is one of the tenets of democracy. Why should everybody be penalised? Haven’t parents heard of blockers, limiting access to certain content on the internet? All internet providers have them. Fascism is rearing its ugly head again.

  2. agree agree agree It will be the end of the net

  3. Seems the Australian government is modelling itself after that of the Chinese…

  4. Oh! Censorship in the UK too!Several webmasters have contacted me with regard to my postings critical of police. Police contact them trying to get threads removed, in particular regarding the homophobia the Stockwell shooting. Some webmasters do some do not as no site rules have been broken…but my own fault, I was wearing a large coat, jumped the barrier, ran from the police, ignored a warning shout, …Oh! No sorry, those were things that DID’nt happen!

The Stockwell shooting has got nothing to do with homophobia so I really don’t understand why you are dragging it onto this site.I very much doubt that anything that has ever happened to you in any way compares with the Stockwell shooting or the distress that was caused to the victim’s family and close friends. Any one of who could be reading this, and no doubt be further distressed by you cheapening a tragic event.

Anon. Congratulations! If Sister Mary Censorious says you’ve been a bad boy and swats your knuckles for daring to tell the truth about police abuse it’s an honor. But don’t get a swelled head; it’s an honor dozens of us have enjoyed. It just means that that you’re not a reactionary and that you’re doing something right. Keep up the good work!

Very nice Bill, I’m sure you’d be fine about Malcolm dredging up the killing of a member of your family (let’s assume for a moment that they haven’t disowned you) for the purposes of making some cheap dig at the police.
