Omar, our government doesn’t even permit foreign gay couples whose own countries offer civil unions/pacs to enter into a civil partnership in the UK if they so wished. Whereas, foreign straight couples can marry in the UK. This only proves that CPs are not equal to marriage, never will be. Anyone who thinks they are, is in denial, big time. I take my hat off to Uruguay though! Some European countries do permit all citizens to opt of marriage for civil unions. There is NO reason why we can’t in the UK.
