WowIt;s taken a while for this to occur but at long last someone in the Church has had the Humanity to speak out. What a brave and totally lovely man. Gotta love him for this.If only he were our Archbishop?

Bishop Tutu, what can I say? Another unsung hero of our times. Now if only he’d come out of retirement, we could demand Williams resignation and replace him with this wonderful “Christian”. He would separate the wheat from the chaff and we’d all be the better for it!

  3. How wonderful and powerful to read a man with such simple clarity. As a champion of human rights in South Africa he realizes that all discrimination is wrong and more importantly it is unchristlike. What moral clarity he has.

Instead of only “coming out of retirement” it would be great if Tutu would just “come out”, but a difficult thing for him to do (assuming, of course, that he qualifies!).

  6. Desmond Tutu’s stance on gay rights was helped enormously by the fact that his som is gay. Read some of what he’s written – it’s really interesting to see his viewpoint.

I suppose if he came out of retirement he’d be under more pressure to keep his mouth shut, brilliant man…not something can often be said of bishops.

I did not know Tutu had a son (or was even married?) let alone his son is gay. Where can I see more about his son please, anyone? Thanks.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again–God Bless Reverend TuTu. He’s what True Christianity is all about.
