A woman may have been killed by her boyfriend after finding gay porn on his mobile phone, a court heard yesterday.

In December 2005 nursery assistant Amanda Bentsi-Addison, 26, was found in Camden north London dying from stab wounds, including one through the heart and a mutilated left breast.

The Old Bailey heard close-circuit television footage showed her boyfriend, Darren John, 23, in the same area.

John, of Camden, claimed he had left her as she was about to meet her former husband, the Sun reported.

However, Sallie Bennett-Jenkins, QC, prosecuting said there were features of the case that suggested that was not the truth.

She told the court: “There were a number of texts and photographic images of a homosexual nature on his phone.

“It may be there had been a dispute between the defendant and Miss Bentsi-Addison which may have driven him to kill her.”

John pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility and was sent to Broadmoor secure hospital without limit of time.

Doctors’ reports said he had been suffering from schizophrenia with paranoid delusions at the time.

Judge Martin Stephens told John: “You carried out a savage attack with a knife on an innocent, blameless lady thereby bringing untold grief to her family and friends.”
