  1. If Holsinger is confirmed, this will be the last act of hatred that Bush and his cronies will have brought on gay citizens. That only 35 house members are against his nomination is appalling. A leopard never changes its spots, but republicans and to a lesser extent democrats will say or do anything to get elected, then do a complete reversal of what they’d set out to do. Our system of government is corrupt and no politician with financial ties to the corporate and military industrial complex is ever going to deliver effective and fair government to its people. That’s why we have no access to universal health care in the U.S. and no marriage equality. Corporate America governs and Bush and whoever comes after him are their puppets.Robert, ex-pat Brit, USA.

  2. Dr. Holsinger is a smart man and knows that the language he is using does not address the central concern. He said “I can only say that I have a deep appreciation for the essential human dignity of all people regardless of background or sexual orientation. “Should I be confirmed as surgeon general, I pledge to you to continue that commitment.”He does not say that ne longer believes that being gay is wrong or should not be condoned. He does not announce that his writting are no longer valid. If he believes that being gay is a healthy “orientation” and one that he can celebrate he should start using different language and stop being evasive or hiding behind language that sounds to much like the old adage of the church, “Hate the Sin but Love the Sinner.” He celebrates my human dignity but can he also celebrate my gayness.
