No surprise here. It’s another rotten fruit ripened by the global drive of antigay US christians and the Bush administration. They promote using antigay prejudice as a wedge to divide resistance to reactionary politics. It had some success in the US, when Republicans used Bill Clinton’s enthusiastic signature on the antigay samesex marriage bill, DOMA to enact the same bill in many states. News reports from Canada, Australia, Iraq, Nepal and other countries confirm this trend. This is an opportunity for groups like ILGA, the International Lesbian and Gay Association to act.(www.ilga.org) And everyone should get in on the act. We should explain that these antigay groups, governments and leaders, like Howard in Australia, are being prompted, and in many cases, bankrolled by war criminals like Bush and not so neo-Nazi figures like the Rev.(sic) Pat Robertson and the late, unlamented Rev. (sic) Jerry Falwell. I’ve seen no reports but I can’t imagine that Der Pope, the ayatollahs, the Kahanists and other rightwing zionist sects aren’t in on it at some level. The State Department and US spy agencies are usually very thorough in their campaigns and have no difficulties working with sleazy conservatives of all stripes.
