The first lesbian bar to join Stonewall’s Bar and Club partnership has said it wants to improve lesbian health.

The Oak Bar, in Haringey, is holding a lesbian beach party on Saturday 22 September with limbo dancers and DJs. Guests in swimwear can get in for only £3.

Jaki Dinse, manager of the Oak Bar, said: “We’re thrilled to be involved with this Stonewall initiative and we’re particularly pleased to support the campaigning work around lesbian health.

“It’s a fun way of raising awareness of important issues and raising money at the same time.”

The bar has committed itself to raising £1,500 throughout the year for Stonewall’s lesbian health campaign as well as its Education for All programme, which aims to tackle homophobic bullying in schools.
