“Paedophiles in general are the type of people that surely would not follow football. Not many gay people to the best of my knowledge are great football fans.”Just how does he know that. Apart from the pathetic attempt to link paedophiles with Gay men, considering the number of children drawn to the game (and exploited by the game) seems to me to be a paedophiles dream come true. Makes you wonder just how many are involved in the sport really. But the rest is just another bit of ignorant bigotry shown by those who actually should know better. Quite ironic as the FA have just started an anti-homophobic campaign in the leagues. Perhaps they should extend their campaign to these over paid so called commentators whose knowledge of the world is limited to a narrow window called football.
If listening to TalkSport and it’s right-wing agenda isn’t enough, why not try working there?I spent several month as an assistant on the Jon Gaunt show, the office the infrastructure and the people are full of narrow-minded yobs. They try their best, but it’s not good enough when the presenters spout their views.TalkSport isn’t genuine radio, it’s sensationlist – it looks for the active response from listeners and writing about it makes them happy. Radio is about debate and discussion and the opinions are very much received from the audience. You should have heard some of them when I was there:Racist, Sexist, Disabilist and of course – Homophobic
