It gets worse the Australian Labour opposition leader in a debate this week to a Christian group announced that Labour (if elected) would not support gay marriage or civil partners and would not recognise gay relationships. It seems that gay men and lesbians will be treated no better by the probably incoming labour government. Australian politicians similarly to most of the rest of the world pander to the religious bigots. I love Australia but thank god I live in Europe now.
