Travelling around the world has never been easier thanks to the internet, with a selection of value flights to almost any destination you choose. But where do you stay??
Finding a suitable gay or gay-friendly hotel, whether at home or anywhere else, is not so easy.
The wrong choice of accommodation, which may turn out to be very un-gay friendly, can easily ruin your special break.
A new website for LGBT travellers has been launched that aims to provide the most comprehensive selection of reliable and trustworthy gay-friendly accommodation anywhere in the world.
The launch of gayfriendlyrooms.com follows four years of intensive market and industry research into accommodation providers who claim a gay-friendly policy, merged with an industry-standard hotel database.
The site enables visitors to find gay-friendly hotels and other accommodation providers throughout the world.
Many of the locations have been vetted for their gay-friendliness by locals and gay travellers, and compliant providers are identified by a specific gay-friendly logo.
Gayfriendlyrooms.com also has a strong social networking element in that it invites users to rate and describe additional gay-friendly providers so that the dynamic database of rooms is constantly being expanded and modified to offer greater scope and choice.
Managing Director David Salvidge claims gayfriendlyrooms.com does something other sites currently cannot do.
“As far as I am aware, we are the only booking facility in the world to be able to filter search results and highlight our vetted selection.
“Other online databases can only offer up their entire inventory, and claim all providers are gay-friendly.
“That’s not possible, because we know that many providers claim to offer gay-friendly services – yet the reality is different.
“And when you have found your favoured hotel you can book it there and then off gayfriendlyrooms.com at prices as good as you will find anywhere!”
