Policy Officer, Stonewall

This is an exciting opportunity to support Stonewall’s work. You will help develop policy on a range of issues impacting on the lives of lesbians and gay men across Britain. Able to support both our research and policy activities, you’ll have good analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

1.Working with the Head of Policy and Research, to identify and develop key policy areas in the LGB sector.

2.Work with the Head of Policy and Research, and the Trusts and Foundations Manager, to identify funding opportunities for policy work, including the development of bids and proposals.

3.Assemble, interpret and analyse information on LGB and other diversity issues.

4.Lead on key policy areas, as agreed with the Head of Policy and Research

5.Maintain an overview of relevant information and research on LGB and other diversity issues.

6.Respond to consultation exercises on behalf of the organisation.

7.Maintain contact as appropriate with partners and other external organisations.

8.Represent and speak on behalf of Stonewall, where required, in relevant meetings with key stakeholders.

9.Work effectively with NGOs, voluntary sector and public sector organisations in relation to policy work.

10.Work with a range of other organisations committed to diversity.
