GaydarRadio added yet another trophy to their cabinet yesterday, after being named Commercial Radio Digital Station of the Year at the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards 2007.

Earlier this year they won a Gold Sony award and was named UK Digital Terrestrial Station of the Year in April.

The Arqiva judges said GaydarRadio, “had established a presence in major gay community events and added diversity to digital broadcasting.”

GaydarRadio faced stiff competition from other finalists PlanetRock, last year’s recipient, and The Jazz, to take the accolade at a ceremony at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel.

“Receiving the award, Programme Controller Robin Crowley said:

“It’s been one heck of a year for us.

“In March this year, we turned five years old, with our biggest audience figures ever, more live programming then ever and brand new funky station idents which reflect that fact that GaydarRadio is the sound of Gay UK.”
