25 June 2007Edinburgh hosts Pride of Scotland + The Scottish capital was transformed into a gay village this weekend as Pride Scotia took to the streets of Edinburgh.Around 5,000 revellers gathered at midday outside the offices of Edinburgh council before setting off for an afternoon of organised festivities in Pilrig Park.The parade was originally planned to go along the Mound, before heading down Princes Street but the route was shortened due to poor weather conditions. -
25 June 2007Manchester triumphs at gay football tournament + Village Manchester FC were crowned winners of the inaugural Ford Pride Football Tournament after beating Stonewall FC in the final on Satuday.24 male and female teams from across the country took part in the six-a-side tournament, which was held at the Goals Soccer Centre in Wembley, just a few miles from the recently completed England stadium.The Ford Pride Football Tournament is the UK's first high profile gay football competition. -
25 June 2007RAF uniforms banned from London Pride + The Royal Air Force has announced that personnel who wear uniform to march in the Pride parade in London will face disciplinary action.A letter from Air Chief Marshal Sir Glenn Torpy, the Chief of the Air Staff, to station commanders says that LGB airmen and women can attend Pride but not in uniform.Last week the Chief of the General Staff has issued orders banning LGB Army staff from marching in uniform at the event this Saturday. -

26 June 2007School says sorry for gay kiss censorship + Officials from the Newark City School District have issued an apology after a male student's year book picture was ordered to be blacked out with marker pen because it contained a gay kiss.The 4.5-by-5-inch photo showed pupil Andre Jackson, 18, turning round to kiss boyfriend, David Escobales, 19, over his right shoulder.The picture, which he had paid $150 to include on a special tribute page, was accompanied by similar poses from heterosexual couples. -
