    11:12 PM — A judge has ordered a tearful Paris Hilton back to prison on today to complete sentence for repeated probation violation, effectively overturning a decision made by the local sheriff to allow the star to spend part of her sentence under home arrest.Paris Hilton is apparently a "gay icon" following her television series The Simple Life. A pool party she had planned for this evening has evidentially been put on ice.

    2:37 PM — Several thousand people are participating in the gay pride parade in Tel Aviv today.Participants are walking from central Rabin Square to a downtown beach, with entertainment from DJs, bands and performance artists.Police have reported no serious incidents, despite threatened opposition from rightwing and religious campaigners.

    2:37 PM — A Florida city manager who was fired just days after her gender reassignment surgery has officially changed her name, from Steve Stanton to Susan Stanton, after a two-minute court hearing yesterday.Susan Ashley Stanton told reporters: "I didn't anticipate this being the emotional experience it was. It's a critical step."

  • Actor dropped from hit TV show after using gay slur 6

    1:10 PM — Actor Isaiah Washington has been dropped from hit US show Grey's Anatomy after he called his co-star a faggot.According to ABC Television studios, his contract has not been renewed.In statement Washington, who plays Dr Preston Burke, said: "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore."

    12:53 PM — George Michael will not be sent to jail after pleading guilty to driving while unfit.District Judge Katherine Marshall at Brent Magistrates Court ruled out a custodial sentence, instead giving Michael 100 hours community service and a two year driving ban.Today the singer said that he regretted endangering the lives of others.

    12:42 PM — A gay police officer who was outed at work by his sergeant should have received an apology, Cleveland Police admitted yesterday.The constable, who cannot be named except for legal reasons has been off work with stress since April last year.He claimed in an employment tribunal that he was treated less favourably because of his sexuality.

    12:35 PM — The British man arrested over the murder of a gay German in Gran Canaria is a former GP who was banned from practicing after developing a drug addiction, it was revealed today.The man has been identified by Spanish officials as Colin Brown, 39, who was arrested after for the murder he was found to have overdosed on drugs in a suicide attempt.

    11:38 AM — Liberal Democrat Simon Hughes MP requested a meeting with the Russian ambassador to the UK yesterday, to protest about the treatment Peter Tatchell received at Moscow Pride.Mr Tatchell, who is one of Mr Hughes' constituents, was attacked and then arrested by riot police when he joined protestors supporting the right of freedom of expression of lesbian and gay people in Moscow and Russia.

    11:07 AM — A gay gang that allegedly lured victims on the Internet, drugged them and raped them, infecting them with the HIV virus has shocked the Netherlands.Police say they have arrested three gay men after four victims, aged 25 to 50, accused them of rape and premeditated bodily harm.In some cases, the victims were raped and then injected with HIV positive blood.

    10:40 AM — A judge has ordered Paris Hilton to appear in court this afternoon, following her release from jail last night for "medical reasons."The celebrity heiress and gay icon could be returned to jail, because the office of the Los Angeles City Attorney do not believe Sheriff Lee Bacca had the jurisdiction to release her, only three days into her 23 day sentence.

    10:24 AM — Singer George Michael has arrived at court this morning to be sentenced for driving while unfit.He has admitted the offence but claims he was guilty due to "tiredness and prescribed drugs."Michael, 43, arrived at Brent Magistrates Court in north London, to hear his sentence.
