  1. Just to correct this article, according to the government’s website the petition was signed by 5,234 people (rather than “over 500″ as stated here). Still, the government has basically said “no change”.

  2. Could it be the case that the increased rate of HIV in the heterosexual community is directly related to irresponsible members of the homosexual community giving blood?

  3. Isn’t that the case with every petition that the Government responds to? I also see that they didn’t bother to mention bisexual men once in their response

  4. They’re keeping this ridiculous ban because less than 20 out of 3 million blood donations came from HIV+ gay men?No… no discrimination here at all…(also, why the hell should asking if the donor is gay be part of the “further enquiries”?)

  5. Why do they need this ban when all the blood is screened for HIV in the first place?!

I qoute:Could it be the case that the increased rate of HIV in the heterosexual community is directly related to irresponsible members of the homosexual community giving blood? On an on—hello again on an on, not see you round here for a while. No, it’s because it’s an STI and they’re not wearing protection because of individuals like yourself telling them it’s a ‘Gay disease.’
