Following last year’s successful day, Saturday 14th July 2007 will see Oxford’s LGBT community celebrate Pride.

This years event also coincides with the Oxfordshire Milliennium, so Pride will be fitted neatly into a summer of spectacular celebrations.

Lord Waheed Alli and Peter Tatchell remain patrons of Oxford Pride and organisers are hopeful that other eminent gay people will lend their support.

Spokesman Rob Jordan commented:

“Following last year’s amazing day, where numbers and finances were better than ever, we hope that our fifth year, will be something that everyone will remember.

“We have support from the City Council again, and also Unison, and hope that we can top the success of last year.

“We have already heard from local businesses, and people that they want to get involved.

“Following the amazing weather we had in the previous two years, lets keep our fingers crossed for another amazing day.”

Anyone wishing to get involved with this years celebrations can do so by visiting the website www.oxfordpride.org or calling 07851 615785.
