MEPs highlight homophobic bullying in school
6:23 PM — Members of the European Parliament from across the EU are to present a written declaration on combating homophobic bullying as new research shows that kids across the continent are being victimised.The MEPs have chosen Valentines Day to highlight the extent to which LGBT teens in all EU countries experience abuse and intimidation at school.Research by gay rights group ILGA Europe and their youth wing examined social exclusion among LGBT kids in Europe.

6:23 PM — Mitt Romney, ex-Governor of Massachusetts and staunch opponent of gay marriage, has today officially announced a bid for the Republican party's candidacy for President of the United States.Speculation about his intentions has been rife since he first resigned from the post of Governor in 2005.Massachusetts is the only state in America to have legalised gay marriage.

4:43 PM — Rising rates of sexually transmitted diseases among young people, gay and straight, have prompted the establishment of a new young people's sexual health service in South Islington.It is run by the Terrence Higgins Trust, the UK's leading HIV and sexual health charity, and the City YMCA.The service offers testing for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), advice on contraception, and managing relationships to 16 to 24-year-olds.
Gay tourists turned off by sexy advertising
4:36 PM — Recently gay holidaymakers have been lured to Britain using posters of half-dressed men, Kylie Minogue and drag queens.But now VisitBritain, the country's official tourism agency, is having to tone down its advertising approach.Research using focus groups in the USA, France and Germany found that potential visitors were being turned off by its cheesy, stereotypical and overtly sexual campaigns, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Ukranian gays face fight with parliament 1
3:52 PM — The leader of Committee on Human Rights of the Ukrainian Parliament has called homosexual people "perverts" and said that a fight against them is needed.Mr. Leonid Grach, a Communist, said last week that the state must protect society from evils, and then listed homosexuality and lesbianism.Ukraine is seeking membership of the EU.
Wife Swap want gay or lesbian family
1:40 PM — Controversial television series Wife Swap is looking for their first same-sex family to take part in the eighth series.The BAFTA-winning Channel 4 programme, which first aired in 2003, takes two families, usually with vastly different lifestyles.The families swap wives for two weeks. In the first week the women try to fill their counterpart's role, and in the second week they impose their own routine on their hosts.
Robbie Williams’ birthday drug rehab 1
11:54 AM — The singer Robbie Williams has checked into rehab on his 33rd birthday.The former Take That star's spokeswoman, Bryony Watts, confirmed that he has been admitted to a clinic to deal with an addiction to prescription medications.In December 2005 Williams successfully sued the People and the Daily Star over allegations he was secretly gay.

James Bond actor attacks gay journalist 4
10:44 AM — It has emerged that Bond star Daniel Craig verbally abused a leading gay journalist at a BAFTA party on Sunday night.Johann Hari, best known for his rigorously intellectual comment and investigative writing for The Independent, revealed that Craig called him a "fucking fool" at the event.It seems Hari had made the mistake of complimenting the new James Bond on his physical appearance.
