Gay lifestyle magazine attitude has announced that it has been bought by publisher Giant Clipper Limited.

A spokesman also said that the plight of subscribers who have not received copies since November is a high priority for the magazine’s new owners.

attitude was previously owned by Remnant Media.

There was confusion last month when the January edition of attitude failed to appear.

Subscribers contacted PinkNews.co.uk to complain that they had not been sent the December edition either.

A spokesman for the magazine said today:

“It is of the utmost importance that we get our subscribers sorted out.”

He was unable to be specific about what refunds or renewals might be offered.

attitude first appeared in May 1994. It is famous for its fashion reportage and photography, and for the wide range of heterosexual celebrities who have graced its cover.

It is also widely praised for its social journalism, the Youth issues in particular demonstrating how much of a lifeline the magazine had become for isolated LGBT youth.

Perhaps attitude’s finest hour so far was June 2002, when David Beckham, captain of the England football team, was the cover model, weeks before the start of the World Cup.

Editor Adam Mattera won BSME Men’s Magazine Editor of the Year in 2005, and was again nominated in 2006.

Commenting on the acquisition of the title by Giant Clipper Ltd, managing director Simon McKay said:

“I’m delighted to have acquired the title and am looking forward to working with Adam, advertising director Andy Goddard and the team to take the magazine to even greater heights.

“We have lots of exciting plans for attitude print and on-line that will be revealed over the coming months.”
