London’s gay bars are uniting in support of gay men’s charity GMFA on World AIDS Day.

A range of bars all over the Capital will be donating much-needed money to the charity, including The Royal Vauxhall Tavern, King William IV in Hampstead, Comptons of Soho, Escape Bar in Soho, Kasbar in Clapham and new club night Big in the City at Mass in Brixton.

“We would like thank everyone involved at all the venues that will be helping GMFA to raise what we hope will be a record amount of money this year.” said Matthew Hodson from GMFA. “Some of our work receives no external funding, and is funded from donations and our own reserves.

“Events like these mean that we’re able to continue doing valuable work for gay men’s health, such as our ongoing campaigns for HIV positive gay men.”

As well as these events, there will also be GMFA volunteers rattling buckets in Prowler Soho on World AIDS Day, and the charity is also being supported by all five Chariots saunas, Sauna Bar Marble Arch, Sauna Bar Covent Garden and the Locker Room who will all be selling red ribbons in aid of GMFA.

The charity is hoping that the World AIDS Day events this year will be well supported, and that people will dig deep so that as much money as possible can be raised to help it to continue its vital work for gay men’s health.
