Yeah, and when you look around and see gay people joining in the homophobic chanting you suddenly realize that silencing homophobia in sport is even more problematic than simply getting joe six pack on board.
I was at a Sunderland match a couple of months ago and I never heard one racist or homophobic chant. I can’t speak for elsewhere in the ground but near me nothing!
