Two men who beat up an Elton John fan have been jailed.

Henry Peters, 31, and Neil Wattley, 30, had hurled homophobic jibes at Graham Brydon as he walked home in a souvenir T-shirt after a concert by the singer.

The pair attacked uncle and nephew Graham and John Brydon shouting “Elton John is f***ing gay” after Peters had spotted the official concert T-shirt Graham Brydon was wearing.

Peters proceeded to punch Graham Brydon in the face.

Both Peters and Wattley then attacked John Brydon, and were caught on CCTV cameras.

Graham Brydon, 50, had required hospital treatment following the attack.

Peters and Wattley had denied the charges, claiming that they had been acting in self defence.

A jury at Blackfriars Crown Court found Peters guilty of two charges of ABH, relating to Graham and John Brydon, and Wattley guilty of ABH for his attack on John Brydon.

Peters of Watford was sentenced to two years and Wattley, from Kings Langley, was handed a one year sentence.
