Little Britain star Matt Lucas is planning a Christmas panto style theme for his upcoming civil partnership, according to reports.
The comedian is rumoured to be considering Captain Hook, Mother Goose and Aladdin guises for a pantomime themed union with his partner Kevin McGee this December.
A source told the Daily Mirror: “It’s a Christmas wedding and Matt and Kevin thought it would be hysterical to have a Christmas panto theme and have everyone dress up.
“They were determined that their special day wouldn’t be a stuffy, formal day, but wanted to have a laugh with all their guests.”
The 32-year-old comedian is reported to have proposed last May, and reveals in a new book about the hit series, Inside Little Britain, that he feels that he feels that he and his boyfriend are “destined to be together.”
Lucas found love with 30-year-old McGee, who works as a TV researcher. No date or venue for their civil partnership ceremony has been announced although it is rumoured that the Banqueting House in Whitehall and the Institute of Directors in Pall Mall have been provisionally booked.
The source told the paper that whatever the venue, the couple plan to kit it out in a theatre style for guests including Sir Elton John and actor Anthony Head.
