A 16-year-old lesbian was assaulted by the angry girlfriend of a 19-year-old woman she met online.

The teenagers had met on the popular chat site Faceparty. Clare Bullock, 19, of Wimslow, Cheshire, had met the unnamed younger girl, and formed an online friendship.

They exchanged intimate information and text messages and arranged to meet on January 2nd this year.

However, when Bullock’s girlfriend, Cherelle Dewer, found out about the online romance she became angry.

Dewer bombarded the 16-year-old’s phone with abusive text messages, and warned her to keep away from her lover.

Dewer then persuaded Bullock to arrange a meeting with the teenager. The Wimslow Chronicle reports that when the 16-year-old turned up, she was confronted by both women.

Dewer assaulted the younger girl, giving her two black eyes, while her lover looked on. Bullock made no attempt to intervene or stop the beating.

The lovers were convicted at Minshull Street Crown Court, Manchester, on Tuesday.

Both pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

University student Bullock admitted arranging the meeting and was ordered to pay £200 in costs. She will receive further sentencing in December and could be given a curfew order or a further fine.

Her girlfriend, Dewer, was given 80 hours of community service for her assault on the younger girl.
