13 July 2006Massachusetts delays gay marriage debate 1 Massachusetts' lawmakers voted yesterday to delay a debate on gay marriage until after the state's general election in November.The decision to postpone the vote came after lawmakers debated for four hours on other agenda items at the Constitutional Convention.The Boston Globe reports that the delay is likely to cheer advocates of gay marriage, who believe that the more time they have to lobby lawmakers the better chance they have to defeat the proposed constitutional amendment to ban same-sex weddings. -

17 July 2006Mixed result for Jackson in dispute with former gay porn producer 2 The Californian jury hearing the lawsuit between Michael Jackson and his former business partner, Marc Schaffel, decided that Jackson would pay Schaffel $700,000.Schaffel, who was sacked after the pop star found out about his former work as a gay porn director, had originally filed a lawsuit for breach of contract against Jackson for the $3.8 million that he claimed the singer owed him.
