4 July 2006Lesbian couple receive anti-gay sperm + Sperm clinics are facing criticism over the way they use donations after one fertility organisation was reprimanded for breaking the terms of a donor's consent by giving his seed to a lesbian couple, despite his stipulation that it not be given to same sex partners.The London Women's Clinic on Harley Street admitted the error after the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) discovered the blunder, they were then suspended for three months. -

4 July 2006Venue cancels Buju Banton gig after protests 7 A Brighton music venue has caved into pressure from the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered) community, Brighton and Hove City Council and Police by cancelling a performance tomorrow by singer Buju Banton, who is known for his homophobic lyrics.In a statement, Concorde 2 said: "We sincerely apologise to ticket holders for any inconvenience this may cause, but we are concerned that we will have our licence revoked and that our premises could be closed down." -
5 July 2006Brighton gay group welcomes Banton gig cancellation 7 A Brighton based gay group has applauded the local authority and police after a performance by reggae artist Buju Banton, scheduled for tonight, was cancelled because of outrage over the singer's homophobic lyrics.The Spectrum lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) group thanked Brighton and Hove Council and police for stopping Banton's Concorde 2 gig after he has categorically refused to apologise for his notorious 1990s hit 'Boom Bye Bye' which appears to incite the burning, shooting in the head of gay people and pouring acid over their faces. -
