I must say that my partner and I, since 1978 (!), have both worked for the NHS since the mid 1970s in clinical roles and even back then never had any problems at all at work. We were OUT back then and accepted just like any other couple. We worked originally at Medway Hospital in Kent then moved onto Northampton and Kettering Hospitals in 1980 and again not a single problem. So, if a huge organisation like the NHS can treat us like normal human beings why on earth can’t other employers? It’s so sad that people inflict their prejudices and bigottery on people at work.
