Terrence Higgins Trust will be distributing 80,000 condoms to revellers at EuroPride this weekend.

The condoms will come in packs of two along with some water based lube, in a pack supported by Confident Condoms and Ford, carrying messages about safer sex, sexually transmitted infections and how to use a condom properly.

Will Nutland, Head of Health Promotion at Terrence Higgins Trust said “Thousands of gay men from all over the world will be coming to London for Europride and there’ll be lots of opportunities for sex. With rates of STIs and HIV on the rise we want to help make that sex as safe as possible. We’ll be giving out these condoms in the run up to the day and on the day itself, if you see our people handing the packs out feel free to come and get one.”

Over half a million people are expected to attend EuroPride this year. The day includes a parade from Marble Arch to Westminster and a rally in Trafalgar Square. Terrence Higgins Trust staff and volunteers will be giving out the condom packs in Trafalgar Square and Soho.

Ralph Patmore, Sales Director of Confident Condoms, said “Confident is delighted to be working with Terrence Higgins Trust again in 2006, to provide the official condom pack to Europride.

“This is a brilliant opportunity to reach thousands of people with information and materials about safer sex and we are very pleased to be involved.”
