Archbishop poses gay row solution
12:00 AM — The Anglican Communion's gay row could be resolved by creating two levels of church. the Archbishop of Canterbury suggested today.Dr Rowan Williams proposed provinces whereby those happy to sign up to a formal covenant would be "constituents" and those who held different views would become "associated."
MPs’ attack BBC’s “casual homophobia” 6
12:00 AM — MPs are calling on the BBC to make its staff more aware of "casual homophobia" after Radio1 DJ Chris Moyles called a mobile phone ring tone "gay" on his breakfast show.The demand is made in a House of Commons motion seeking a debate on the issue, led by Liberal Democrat MP and spokesperson for Women and Equality Lorely Burt, and currently supported by four others from the Lib Dems, Conservatives and Labour.

12:00 AM — The Chicago organisers of the 2006 Gay Games announced today that Ernst Young LLP, one of America's largest professional services firms, has joined as a global bronze sponsor.Ernst Young's sponsorship includes providing ticketing and collection services for 10 venues at the events, equal to more than 1,000 hours of professional services.
National HIV Testing Day
12:00 AM — The US is holding a National HIV Testing Day (NHTD) today as part of an annual campaign produced by the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA-US) to encourage at-risk individuals to receive voluntary HIV counselling and testing.The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 180,000 to 280,000 people nationwide are HIV-positive but are unaware of their status.
Lesbian couple argue for Massachusetts marriage 1
12:00 AM — A lesbian couple from Rhode Island are hoping to marry in Massachusetts by arguing that their state does not directly ban gay marriage.Massachusetts, the only US State which allows same sex couples to marry, bans non residents from taking advantage of the law.
Gay community receives 80,000 condoms for EuroPride
12:00 AM — Terrence Higgins Trust will be distributing 80,000 condoms to revellers at EuroPride this weekend.The condoms will come in packs of two along with some water based lube, in a pack supported by Confident Condoms and Ford, carrying messages about safer sex, sexually transmitted infections and how to use a condom properly.
Gay charity aims to end workplace discrimination
12:00 AM — The Welsh branch of gay charity Stonewall has launched an updated version of its "Discrimination at work- it's so over" employee guide regarding sexual orientation in the workplace, in reaction to a recent survey claiming one in five gay employees are discriminated against in Wales because of their sexuality.Available in English and Welsh, the guide gives employees the basic information they need about the regulations protecting them at work, informs them of their rights and advises what to do if they experience problems.
London Mayor welcomes gay community to EuroPride 6
12:00 AM — With up to half a million people expected to join this weekend's EuroPride 06 parade and festival, the Mayor of London has restated his commitment to the capital as a gay friendly destination and city to live and work in.Ken Livingstone, who is hosting his annual Pride reception at City Hall this week, as well as speaking at the EuroPride rally in Trafalgar Square on Saturday, said: "I want to give a very strong London welcome to Europride. With a huge range of bars, clubs and restaurants across the capital, from Soho, to Vauxhall, to Shoreditch, London is one of the best cities to visit for lesbian and gay travellers and I am very pleased to welcome everyone coming to join us this Saturday for EuroPride.
Report highlights homeless gay community’s needs
