Victor MacKenzie told a Dundee tribunal that he was dismissed by Cupar Garden Centre because of his sexuality.
However, his bosses denied this and claimed they knew he was gay when he started the job as a plantsman.
Mr Mackenzie was spoken to by his managers after telling a workmate he planned to set up a porn site featuring his own sex acts, which led to a “quiet word” between assistant manager Ben McClean and the claimant, the court heard.
Mr McClean denied he “slated him about his sexuality.”
He was later given a verbal warning over timekeeping and other issues.
Mr Mackenzie, of Fife, said he did not mention sexual acts.
