Sonya Gould, 19, and Vanessa Haydock, 19, privates in the Royal Logistics Corps, were the first gay army recruits to have a civil ceremony last February.
But after just three months together they will separate, according to reports.
Friends claim police have had to stop fights between the former couple at their North Yorkshire barracks and one was even cautioned for assualt, a source told The Sun, “It is no surprise, they are the most mismatched pair you could ever meet.”
A police spokesman said: “We are often called to domestic incidents but this was unusual, to say the least.”
Ms Gould is still a soldier but Ms Haydock has quit to become a barmaid, The Sun reports.
They follow Liz King, 40, and Daphne Ligthart, 36, who became the first female same sex couple to plan a divorce last week.
