Boy attacked because of lesbian mum
An Irish mum spoke has spoken of her anger after her 17-year-old son was attacked because she is a lesbian.
Eleanor McManus, from Schull, West Cork, revealed her boy, Erin, is lucky to be alive after he was assaulted after a party last Sunday evening.
She told the Daily Mirror, “It’s an absolute disgrace. This has been going on for years. I understand that kids say cruel things but this has been escalating.
“These thugs beat up my son because they think we are different, and they don’t want to accept people who are different.
“I am sick of my family being discriminated against because of my sexuality.”
She said she was receiving support from local residents and police are investigating the incident.
