Gay cruise director’s Mickey Mouse role

Lesbian US comedian and TV presenter, Rosie O’Donnell, has compared herself to Mickey Mouse.

O’Donnell, who launched the first cruise for gay and lesbian families in America, says she feels like she is putting in a Disney style performances when welcoming passengers onto the ship which travels from New York to the Bahamas.

She called the experience, “emotionally moving” and said she “didn’t realise the effect it would have on people’s lives.”

The cruise, which is featured in an HBO documentary, called All Aboard! Rosie’s Family Cruise, provides discussion groups on adoption, artificial insemination, surrogacy, and other topics of particular interest to gay families.
