This bigotted excuse by B B owners is much the same as that used when the Race Relations Act came in.Before the RRA they could freely put up notices saying “No Blacks, No Irish and No Dogs”. This is a smokescreen by bigots, unless of course they want to turn back the clock to the 1950s and bar anyone not carrying a Protestant Prayer Book in their hands!
I agree. I am also old enough to remember ‘no coloureds’ notices in B&B windows. As a biproduct of this my mother decided to let a room in our house and we met several wonderful people from Africa and the West Indies who had come to the UK to study.
