    12:00 AM — Gay rights activists protested outside St Peter's Square this evening, following the condemnation of gay marriage by the Pope, Benedict XVI on Thursday.The group avoided entering the square, which is Vatican territory, but demonstrated just outside of it with banners criticising the Church's stance on homosexuality.

    12:00 AM — NHS trusts in England have been accused of neglecting to plan adequately for sexual health provision by a consortium of sexual health charities.A report published today claims that despite central government funding being available for planning, half of all Primary Care Trust (PCT) local delivery plans for the next three years fail to mention specific targets to improving access to sexual health services.

    12:00 AM — John Barrowman, the gay star of Doctor Who was told he was "too straight" to play the part of Will in the hit US comedy Will and Grace.The 38 year old actor who is well known across the world as Doctor Who's bisexual sidekick Captain Jack Harkness claimed that offering the led role in the gay sitcom to a straight actor, Eric McCormack was typical of "homophobic" Hollywood.
